Yes, it has been weeks again, but I do have good reasons - at least reasonable reasons! This has been a busy few weeks!
We went on our first real holiday in years, and although it was a bit jumbled up because we found out that there was a Casting Crowns concert near us so we just HAD to go, it was still a very fun vacation! We really enjoyed our time away. Here are some pics...
We started out our holiday down in the town near the farm that my Grandma and Uncle live on. We hadn't been there for 5 years, so it was nice to see everyone and we were there to celebrate my Grandma's 90th birthday. It was a nice time of visiting family! There was even a bit of a showdown...
See how Jon has his water bottle pointed at Amy?? She was having none of it, and when it finally got right down to it, my mom stepped in to defend her! (Scroll to last picture) ! It was so funny! Ah, good times!
Then we went to Calgary for the Casting Crowns show - I will share pics someday when I figure out how to get pictures off of my cell phone! But here is how it looks from my seat in the truck...
Yes the baby was crying, she kind of did that a lot on the drive, but we won't talk about that!
We spent those two nights with my cousin who I adore (and so do my kids) so that was a huge bonus!
She kept making us huge buffets of food - fruit and toast and cereal for breakfast, veggies, crackers, cookies and the like for supper and snacks - it was awesome!
Then we travelled to Cypress Hills Interprovincial park. We had such a good time there, we swam in the pool one day, had ice cream, and then the next day we went to Fort Walsh National Historic Site, and that was so much fun!
We actually had to get ice cream while we were waiting for the pool to empty out a bit so we could go swimming. There is a bible camp there at Cypress Hills, so for part of each day the campers are in the pool, making it pretty crowded and actually it was closed to new people for a while until they emptied out a bit. So we used that time to go to the museum in the visitor center and enjoy a scoop or two of the cold stuff! MMM!!!
The baby even had some - you can't really tell how dirty her face is in this picture, but believe me she enjoyed her treat!
I will have to post the pictures of Fort Walsh later, because my kids are waiting for me!
Enjoy!
