The pictures (found this in drafts - finally posting)

I promised pictures of the dresses I have been sewing - princess dresses, to be exact (or ssecnirp dresses according to a friend of ours).  I haven't sewn anything from a pattern for over 5 years.  A few years ago, I took my machine in to be serviced, and then did my cupboard of mending and promptly allowed my machine to start gathering dust again!
I had to dig it out a few weeks ago however, because we were planning a trip to Disneyland, and my two oldest children are too large for commercially purchased princess dresses.  Who says kids only like to dress up until they are 8?  I really would like to know why costumes go from size 8 children's to size small and sleezy in women's.  But I digress...
So in order to have each of my girls have a dress to wear to meet the princesses in, I decided I would embark on a Woman vs. Machine type of adventure!
There were some scary moments, but I think I have triumphed!
Here is our oldest, in what is the closest to Giselle from Enchanted as we could get....

And our second oldest in my rendition of Snow White!

The other girls deserve a spot as well, to show off their commercially purchased dresses!

The above moments were two that I will never forget.  Our Princess meeting her very favorite princess of all time.  Oh, my, I could hardly stand it!  She has sung the songs from The Little Mermaid since she was tiny.  It was so AWESOME to have her meet Ariel!  And another moment I waited for, was this one with Snow White at the fountain.  She asked the girls if they were her twins, and I just LOVE that - totally loved it and was waiting for it after a friend relayed a similar experience when they went to DisneyWorld.

What a fun time, and a great reason to get my sewing machine out!
